How to Create the Header for Sophia

For this tutorial, you must have Photoshop. If you don’t have this program you may download a free trial from their website. After you have downloaded and activated Photoshop you will want to then download the Autumn Chant font.

Would you like your own header image created for your blog theme but don’t have Photoshop to create it, or don’t want to go through the steps of creating it? If so you may still purchase our Create My Header add-on, and we will do it for you.

Creating the Header Image

1. Open the Photoshop program on your computer

2. Create a new document with the following settings.

3. Open up the Character panel by going to Window > Character and select the Bodoni MT Condensed font. This is a font that comes standard on most all computers, but if you by chance do not have this font installed you may download it from this website.

4. After you have selected this font click the Text tool which looks like this.

5. Click once in the center of the document and type out your blog title. In the Character panel be sure your tracking is set to 100. Adjust the font size to your liking.

6. Select the move tool and adjust the title to be centered in your document.

7. In your character panel select Autumn Chant and

8. Now the header is ready. To save go up to Export > Save for Web.

9. You may save this file as a .PNG file within the settings. Click Save… name your file and save it to your computer to upload to your blog.

10. Now you may upload your header to your blog by going to Appearance > Header.
